The Design Process
Design is the first building block of a great landscape and we specialize in targeting your needs to ensure that all aspirations are met. We start with a good basic site analysis and an accurate measurement of your property. This gives us the opportunity to visualize and generate creative ideas about function and design concepts which are unique to every property.
With 30 years of combined experience, Sandpiper Landcare is adept at designing landscapes to fit the needs of your lifestyle as well as your budget. To ensure that the property needs are promoted and protected during beginning design stages, we conduct the following procedures for every project:
Preliminary Landscape Master Planning
- Site Survey including verification of existing elements and dimensions, location of water and electrical points of connection, plants, walls, air conditioners, drains and paving. The site will be photographed at this point.
- Preliminary Landscape Master Plan will show all elements of the design, i.e, fireplace, arbors, trellises, pond, pool equipment, walks, pilasters, driveways, fences, walls, stone seats with metal backs, gates, steps, pots, garden trees, shrub masses, groundcover, seasonal color and vines.
- Site Visit to review plans and to revise if necessary.
Contract Documents
- Construction Layout Plan calling out dimensions, materials, patterns, fireplaces, arbors, trellises, ponds, walks, pilasters, driveways, fences, walls, stone seats, gates, steps, pots, garden and drainage systems.
- Irrigation Plan calling out type of materials, locations, sizes and soil amendments for trees, shrubs, groundcover, seasonal color, vines and reference to details.
- Planting Plan calling out species, locations, sizes, and soil amendments for trees, shrubs, groundcover, seasonal color, vines, and reference to details.
- Lighting Plan including fixture type, manufacturer, combinations and connections to establish quality of all construction elements.
- Provide completed documents to owner for review by the association and city.
The Build Process
Often through development, our Southern California landscape environment is disturbed and needs to be reshaped to compliment the natural surroundings. Once a firm plan and schedule are established, we'll handle all aspects of construction. From consultation to installation to final design, we work with each client to develop a landscape plan that can then be used for detailed installation and permit approval. The Maintenance Process
To help maintain the livelihood of your landscape, we recommend various service agreements that guarantee your custom landscape continues to look as stunning as the day it was crafted. Our staff will fill out a Weekly Landscape Maintenance Checklist and Monthly Check List for your benefit. We will walk the property monthly. At this time you can add to the punch list for the following Month Maintenance:
